EZUnsecured.com is a US-based Business Financing Consultant who specialise in Unsecured Business Loans, Lines of Credit, and Credit Cards for Small Business Owners who have been in operation for at least 2 years. It should be noted that their services are only open to US-based businesses.

They are not a financier per se, but offer the following services:
    - assist you in preparing and ensuring correct your Application Package; of course you can do this yourself, but they offer Easy Process
    - send that package to the Lenders; EZUnsecured.com claims that in this way, usually the Lenders will approve the application

The amount that can be loaned is up to USD1 million, depending on certain factors, including credit history, number of years in business, ability to show Income and Asset Documentation, and whether the program is No Doc or Full Doc.

The interest rate ranges from 9.5% to 15.5%, depending on factors like Credit History, the financing body, and whether the program is No Doc or Full Doc.

Fast Approval usually takes 1 to 3 days and a further 3 to 14 days to get the money deposited in your checking account.

    Credit Cards: a necessary evil?

    November 11th, 2007

I remember that 10 years ago it’s quite difficult to get credit cards, even for someone who’ve been working for a few years.

Later it was the total opposite - credit card marketing executives were hounding me left and right, with all sorts of tricks up their sleeve to entice me to join, including low-interest balance transfers, free-for-life (no annual fee), free handphones and such like. On the pavements, outside hypermarkets, in our offices, on the phone - they are absolutely everywhere!

Credit cards can definitely make it too easy to get into debt - especially if you got one for the first time. I still remember that time: I had the illusion that I had unlimited buying power and could worry about the repayments later. Was I totally in the wrong - fortunately I managed to cut down the number of my cards to two now.

At the same time, credit cards have gotten me out of tight spots before: times when I simply did not have enough cash and need to settle something quickly. It is also essential for online shopping - not all merchants accept PayPal.

I would say one needs to have a high level of discipline if one were to hold credit cards. Only use it when absolutely necessary - and if you do use it, pay it back in full promptly. Always try to keep the balance to zero.

You also need to look out for special offers like 0% credit cards, where you basically get an interest free loan for a certain time before the standard APR kicks in. Of course, once you clinch that, don’t do what most people do : slip back on payments, or merely pay the minimum.

Caring for the elderly in Malaysia

    November 8th, 2007

When I was a student overseas many years ago, my foster mother there, Mrs Johnson (assigned by JPA) sometimes brought us to Devon, a beautiful place in southwest England to visit her octogenarian mother who lived there on her own. Of course she had nurses coming but I didn’t think they’re stayed with her in the house.

Devon is quite far from where we lived in Essex - on the other side of England.

I shall always remember her 90th birthday party, complete with ninety candles, and the sight of her blowing each and every single candle out!

In Sabah, at least at that time, that kind of thing happening would be very rare.

It struck me that this might be an isolated case, but when Mrs Johnson herself, who is now 79 years old moved to a smaller house a few years ago instead of going to live with her children, I realised that they like to be independent.

Of course, they take excellent care of their health and I can learn a thing or two from them in this area. For example, Mrs Johnson still goes on cycling holidays well into her seventies!

This is not to say the UK doesn’t have care homes, as going to such a home would be unavoidable in certain circumstances.

My point is, by living among them and observing you’d notice differences in attitude and thinking - this could be a clue in answering the question of why Great Britain, once a world superpower is far more advanced than us.

    hotelreservations.com: online vacation planner

    November 7th, 2007

HotelReservations.com offers all you need to plan your vacation from the comfort of your home: hotels, motels, resorts, flights, cars, vacation rentals and vacation packages. This one website is all you need to have a complete trip plan.

Services are currently offered for more than 70,000 properties worldwide - hotels, Bed and Breakfast, condominiums and all inclusive resorts in many countries, including top holiday destinations in the United States, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Appropriately, the site is browsable in several languages and currencies, including Britain. Canadian, Spanish, French, German and Italian.

I tried several of the features at Hotel Reservations dot com and here’s a summary of some that I liked.

For the hotel reservation feature, they have a feature to enable you to list hotels located near famous landmarks. For example, for the city of London I could pick the hotel of my choice located near Harrods. The hotel compare function allows you to shortlist hotels to assist you in making up you mind.

They even have a comprehensive destination guide that enables you to find out details about your destination and hence plan you trip in advance. It contains recommendations on attractions, restaurants, hotels, even up-to-date weather forecasts, health tips and much more for thousands of destinations, even those not listed in the 15 countries!

For those seeking special-interest holidays, the site offers options as wide ranging as family-oriented, beach hotels, gambling, golf and spa holidays.

US customers are offered road trips, where you can find a destination by specifying driving time from your current location. Indeed this is a great idea for a great weekend trip on wheels!

The prices offered are competitive with prevailing market rates, with big discounts offered on world wide destinations.

Of course, if you are more comfortable talking with a human, you can always call their toll-free number at 1-800-447-4136.

    Holiday Hypermarket: dream vacation planner

    November 7th, 2007

Holiday Hypermarket is a travel agency based in the Britain, and it is one of the largest of its kind in Europe.

And now it has gone online.

Through its website, you can get literally millions of package holiday bargains, last minute deals, cheap flights and all inclusive holidays to destinations all over the world.

For example, should you check out the flights to Kefalonia on their website, you’d be shown bargains on offer at the top of the screen, which you can grab immediately. Further down is a quick description of the place. But what really caught my attention is what’s displayed below the holiday videos at Kefalonia posted by users. In striving to show what the place really looks and feels like, that sure beats mere text and pictures!

The bottom of the screen is embedded with Google Maps and Google Earth, so that you can check out Kefalonia from above.

Those are great features to help you to prepare for that holiday you’ve been looking forward to.

Some things in the garage are better hidden inside cabinets

    November 5th, 2007

Our garage can fit 8 cars. But before you rise an eyebrow or two, consider the fact that our house is has legs, and not all the cars belong to me.

There are quite a few things there that would be nice to put behind some nice cabinet doors. Currently they are in a store room but that isn’t what I call properly organised. Everything is everywhere, and almost anything imaginable: Welding equipment, car tyres, brooms, shovels, pots, hoes, spades.

Hence, installing garage cabinets downstairs would be nice.

    Have you ever borrowed money?

    November 2nd, 2007

I think the answer to the question, for the great majority of the population, is a definite “yes”. Whether it’s the casual “Do you have 5 dollars? I forgot my wallet - will pay you tomorrow at the office” to taking out several simultaneous loans totalling a few billion dollars from multinational banks, it’s still basically the same idea: borrowing money, with a promise to pay it by a predetermined point in time.

Your truly of course borrow money all the time - most commonly from the equally loved and hated plastic. Not just from that of course: banks, cooperatives and loan sharks are also vying for my attention.

I think it’s definitely easy to gain access to money I might not be able to pay back later. In the last few months I have received at least three preapproved personal loan offers. No need to go through all the credit checks, all I needed to do was fill in a few details and sign on the dotted line. This is not to mention credit card marketers - if I said yes to them all, I think my wallet would’ve been several inches thick with plastic.

Having said all that, some times borrowing money is difficult to avoid. I’m building my own house, so a secured loan is in the works. Of course, unless I become the next person to make a quick buck from a Genting-related lucky number…

Make Yourself Amazing (MYA): Britain’s top cosmetic surgery company

    October 30th, 2007

On 23rd September The Times UK correspondent Gemma Soames visited 3 of the busiest cosmetic surgery clinics in London, to see for herself how they handle prospective customers. Even if the the law states that ultimately it’s up to you whether you want the surgery or not, and no cosmetic doctor can stop you if you really wanted it, she wanted to know whether they’d tend to urge you to for it, or whether it’s more a neutral approach.

Ms Soames is 27, 5′ 9″ and has a BMI of 19.8. One look at those stats and you’d probably think she has no issues at all.

One clinic that impressed her was Make Yourself Amazing (MYA). The surgeon was perfectly balanced in his appraisal - in contrast to the other 2 clinics she visited. He could have pushed for the surgery, but he didn’t. He said the only part of her body on which he could perform surgery is her stomach, but the difference it would make would be too small, hence not worth the money. He did not flatly decline to operate, but he recommended exercising instead.

Again, in contrast to the other 2 consultants, he asked her to “revisit her expectations”, that what she’s after was unrealistic. Bluntly, he told her that flat stomachs are for athletes. He would only go ahead with the procedure if she’s really adamant.

Cosmetic surgery companies are just like any other company: they need a steady stream of customers in order to prosper, but on the flip side, many liposuction companies are accepting all-comers; there are a lot of unnecessary surgeries going on.

Liposuction should be decided upon by the person undergoing the knife after getting a balanced, professional consultation.

Autonet’s insurance for van drivers in the UK or EU member state highways

    October 30th, 2007

Van insurance allows policy holders to drive a van up to 3.5 tonnes, on any highway in the United Kingdom or European Union member state. It is also known as Commercial Vehicle Insurance or Commercial Van Insurance. You need such insurance to legally drive any van in the abovementioned places.

NC health insurance is recommended, but not compulsory.

Autonet is a UK-based van insurance company. It caters for van drivers residing in the United Kingdom. Should they need temporary insurance cover abroad, it can be arranged.

It aims to provide the cheapest van insurance available anywhere in the UK. Having said that, they do not compromise on quality; no cutting corners here.

They provide both online and over-the-phone quotes: both guaranteed with quality advice and product by advisors specialising in van insurance.

There’s also a new service being offered: an outbound facility. This service allows any van driver to enter a few details at www.vannetinsurance.co.uk, then receive a call from a van insurance specialist within a few minutes. The specialist can then tailor a policy specific to that van driver’s needs.

Watch live and on-demand Serie A soccer matches online

    October 30th, 2007

SerieA.tv “The Ultimate Soccer Site” must have been heaven-sent by the Gods of Soccer to soccer / football fans, in particular Serie A fanatics.

It allows you to watch all the games, live or previous games, except Napoli home games (apparently this is due to some rights issue). Or if you prefer, you can choose only to watch only match highlights. No more rushing home to catch the game or lamenting the fact that you’ve forgotten to program the box.

And of course, you can simply focus on your favourite team(s), with all the details you’ve come to expect nowadays: news, table standings, schedules, scoreboards, top scorers and team details; even standard TV fare like match previews, top 10 goals and top 5 saves.

If that’s not enough to quench your soccer hunger, you can even watch interviews and special shows.

Don’t worry if you don’t know any Italian, the website is done in English and most match commentaries are done in both Italian and English.

There are 3 ways to subscribe:
    (i) Single match: USD6.95
    (ii) Monthly subscription: USD14.95
    (ii) Season package: USD109.95

With that money, you get high-quality streaming video (up to 400Kbps).

And perhaps the greatest plus point for this site is that you have access to exclusive games that are unavailable, legally at least, from any other source!
