Chess – cards hybrid game
February 15th, 2013Last night I stumbled upon the 2 kids, aged 5 and 9 respectively, playing a curious game as shown below. I have no idea what it is.
Looking closer:
- even the cards have been written with words like “attack” and “shield”;
- orientation of the cards (landscape / portrait) has its own special meaning;
- moves on the chessboard do not follow the usual chess moves (the kids do know the basics of chess).

Yes, they invented the “game” themselves – full marks for creativity!
