Highest frequency of power interruptions in Malaysia in 24 hours

    October 22nd, 2012

At 5pm on 22nd October 2012 (Monday), Zayrode Lyz Leong mentioned that Tamparuli town had just had its 21st power interruption for the day.

20 minutes later he said it’s happened 6 times more.

Power would come on for half a minute, sometimes more, but on average, there would be an interruption every 5 to 10 minutes.

He claimed that he had already contacted the power providers, Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB), through their hotline, and that they merely said they’re aware of the issue and were currently fixing it, and advised him to switch off all electrical items for the time being.

A few minutes before midnight, he wrote that the total count of the day had just reached 37.

This could be a Malaysian (world?) record.

I advised him to write to the relevant authorities, and to highlight the matter to the media if there’s no favourable response within a month.
