May 31st, 2009The most anticipated event in KDCA Hall on the afternoon of the last day of May every year is surely the Unduk Ngadau finals.

So there you have it, some of them are already familiar names, like Appey Rowena and Pearl Dianne Petrus who participated in the Miss Sabah/Malaysia/World 2009 pageant a month earlier. For the record Appey Rowena finished 4th then while Pearl Dianne won a subsidiary title. As for Joanne Kimberly Majalap, she was Miss/Sabah/Malaysia 2008 runnerup, behind Devenna Jaikob, the 2006 Unduk Ngadau.
Someone pointed out an interesting observation: for the district of Tuaran, there’s only one pageant to determine the representative for Tuaran and Tamparuli: the winner will represent the former, and the runner-up, the latter. Anyhow, the winner at the district level finished 6th at the state level pageant while the runnerup finished better, at 4th. This seems to happen almost every year?!
A few days earlier, on 28th May, during the Gala Night, 2 subsidiary titles were handed out, and the winners were:
(i) Miss Natural Beauty (Tati Topiodo): Flina Rutum (Tamparuli)
(ii) Miss Friendly (Tati Tosuau): Affy Jackleyinda Entawin (Beaufort)
P.S. Beauty pageants could also be called “display of people who do not need to consume diet pills.”

Good one brother! I was searching for this info. The girls deserve the titles!
Still, IMHO the judges lost the chance to crown a truly great beauty, still, congratulations to everybody is in order.
