The most ridiculous pose by an Unduk Ngadau contestant ever: Tawau, 1995
May 13th, 2009Unduk Ngadau contestants are supposed to project the image of the legendary Huminodun, the sacrificed daughter of Kinorohingan [God].
The following video is apparently of a contestant at the Tawau district-level 1995 Unduk Ngadau pageant doing her catwalk. Watch out for what she does at 0:28, I don’t think it’s ever been performed in any Unduk Ngadau competition, or been repeated since:
Someone called this the “tendang bola” [kicking ball] move.
Even some of the other contestants at the back laughed.
Amazingly, someone mentioned that she still managed to place fourth!
Anyway, at least she should be commended for her unshakable confidence.

i often wonder, why is it that the unduk ngadau girls have to ikat the rambut to make them look like aunties? 18 year olds instantly transformed into 45 year olds?
That would a good question to ask the organisers!
