Video of a drunk dog, apparently somewhere in Sabah
March 23rd, 2009Here’s a video taken of a dog that ate the rice made to make the Sabahan alcoholic brew tapai (rice wine).
When I was small, I remember my grandparents telling me never to make fun of animals, or the ground will open up and swallow you.
These people not only did all that, they even uploaded the video to youtube in January!
I wanted to laugh but… I remembered what my granny said.

My parents also always reminded me not to make fun of animals or the earth would swallow you, just like u said. This is one of the same belief in our ancestor..
As for the ultimate fate of the dog, perhaps you’d like to ask the video makers on his channel directly…
And in America, Dogs always have nice names like Lassie, Tiger, Sam, Dan and Mike….
But in Sabah, Dogs have funny names such as Laping (what a name!!!), Konsidoi, Butod, Kompugon, Tarakin, Kumpod and Boliki!!!!!

yeah…in my place, it is popular among kadazandusun for naming their pets especially their dog. one of them is laping…if im not mistaken, laping means that the ear are heading towards down their head like there is lake of soft bone in the ear…my dog are also name laping, and sometime he can “laugh”, “laughing” hehehe…there is so many weird name but i can’t remember it all…purak, juku, sitam, pataya, kupi, lingkong, gutut and many more…and usually many of the name has it own meaning according to the dogs behaviour, characteristic, shape and color.

those drunk guys in that video should be sentenced either using “French Guilotine” or “Garrote” method….. check it out what ‘garrote’ means!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually I’ve already known the meaning of “garrote” for many years because in my favourite movie The Godfather, Don Vito Corleone’s longtime henchman Luca Brasi died when he was garroted by one of Al Lettieri’s people:
