My favourite electric guitars (Part 2)
February 23rd, 2009I mentioned earlier that my favourite electric guitars include the Washburn N4, popularised by the incomparable Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme. To me, he’s one of the very best rhythm players on the planet.
Even though Extreme’s best known song is More Than Words, I think their best songs are the heavier ones, including Decadence Dance and Get The Funk Out (both 1990).
Watch Nuno himself teach you, with an N4 of course, how to play Decadence Dance. He talks a bit at the beginning and only starts playing at 2:22 (solo starts at 7:20), but trust me, it’s well worth the wait:
… and Get The Funk Out (starts playing at 0:57). The amazing, ultra fast solo starts at 3:47:

yea…. Nuno may be the best in the world… but Hillary Ang (Search), Man Kidal (Lefthanded) and Zulkif ( Headwind) to me are the best in Malaysia……!!!!!!!
How about Sham Kamikaze or Samad?
sorry to say but sham kamikaze and the late Samad can only claim no 2 spot behind hillary, man kidal & zulkif…..
and papier mache’s lead guitarist – podonon a distant 89th……!!!!!!! (respectable position)
