My favourite electric guitars (Part 2)

    February 23rd, 2009

I mentioned earlier that my favourite electric guitars include the Washburn N4, popularised by the incomparable Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme. To me, he’s one of the very best rhythm players on the planet.

Even though Extreme’s best known song is More Than Words, I think their best songs are the heavier ones, including Decadence Dance and Get The Funk Out (both 1990).

Watch Nuno himself teach you, with an N4 of course, how to play Decadence Dance. He talks a bit at the beginning and only starts playing at 2:22 (solo starts at 7:20), but trust me, it’s well worth the wait:

… and Get The Funk Out (starts playing at 0:57). The amazing, ultra fast solo starts at 3:47:
