Newsreports of cases of too much “aramai ti” [part 2]
May 11th, 2008I last blogged about this last year, appropriately towards the end of the year.
Now here we are again in the month of May, of which many Sabahans would know the meaning.
So I think it’s good to remind ourselves not to overindulge.
The following two cases reported in the newspapers happened neither at the end of the year nor in May, meaning it can happen anytime.
Daily Express, 7th January 2008:

Sadly the above was not the first time such a thing has happened. It also happened to a schoolmate of mine many years ago.
And I finally managed to find my all-time favourite “too much aramai ti” newsreport: Daily Express, 21st February 2002:

Happy Kaamatan & take good care of yourself and your loved ones.
… if needed, go for disability insurance …

haha, i dont know whether to be sad or to laugh abt the first news. but the second news is quite funny. ppl should take care of themselves la…nasib baik masih hidup lagi oh.
adui.. reminds me of my younger days… macam sadap tu kangkung kana paluk.. ahahaha…
Hmmm…
Knowing our moginum culture, let us all hope good sense and rational thinking prevail not only during this ‘aramai ti’ month and but throughout.
regarding the first news, I nearly ran over a guy in the same scenario. it was in hungab penampang. i saw a body on the road and i stopped immediately. luckily the car behind me managed to stop as well. i ran out towards the body whom i thought was a victim of hit and run, the other driver joined me as well.
when we got near, i asked him if he was ok. he opened his eyes and gave me a smile, with a strong alcohol smell on his body. MABUK pulak odoi.
so we just placed him on the pavement, safe from the cars and left him there. next day no news about anyone getting run over so i guess he got home safe.
did you by any chance scanned the one with the security guards fell flat on the ground? still on their uniforms lagi tu haha.
OMG, that means these cases of “using the road as a bed” is quite common. I wonder how many have died in this fashion all these years.
Regarding the world’s worst security guards as reported by DE in March 2007, yes of course I wouldn’t have missed that for the world ;-)
