Pictures of Mimpian Jadi Golf and Beach Resort, Tuaran, Sabah
February 9th, 2008I was at Mimpian Jadi Golf and Beach Resort for work on 6-7th August 2007.

Probably it’s the only resort in Sabah with Moai-like statues. Three of them, no less. I think they’re at least 6′ tall.

But what really struck me was the presence of curious wooden structures inside the resort building, including some which looked like they’d developed naturally, taken straight out of a jungle, polished up, and mounted for display.
The biggest was located at the back. It was at least 7′ tall. Apart from a hand-like figure pointing to the sky I have no idea what it’s supposed to represent:

Then right next to the main entrance there’s what looked like a horse. It was at least 7′ long and 4′ tall.

Displayed near the lobby area wall is a much smaller “sculpture”, but no less curious. Does it look like fish to you?

On another side of the lobby wall, of similar size to the thing I mentioned above, is this thing:

Right in the middle of the lobby is this curious structure, with alien-like fingers in the middle:

On the left side of the buffet area is this thing:

On the right of the buffet area is this thing:

If, after seeing the bizarre creatures above, you are starting to feel rather creepy and in doubt whether to visit this place or not, rest assured, the super long beach is an inviting 200 m away with a nice grass patch on the way.

I never did see the golf course, so no putting on golf shoes then (not that I possess any).
For a budget-conscious quiet weekend getaway a mere half hour from the state capital, this little resort is an option worth considering.

Those are creepy! Don’t think they’re good feng shui wise as well…hows business there these days? I haven’t been there at all!
I’ve been there a whopping 3 times in the last 13 years, so I’m not qualified to judge. However, personally, I have seen very little changes to the place since I first visited it in 1994.
OMG! The last picture. Beautiful scene!
The place is not bad… it just too quite… but I’m sure this is what people want… away from the noises… while enjoying the scenery. Personaly, I like the beach and its waves… Ben you can put your balloon cock fighting with bos picture… pass to you when I see u, probably at Kepayan kadai kupi… mua ha ha ha…
