Newsreports of cases of too much “aramai ti”

    December 21st, 2007

This year alone I have seen and compiled at least 4 related newsreports.

Daily Express, 25th February 2007, One Montoku Too Many

Daily Express, 12th March 2007, Who Needs Watching With Guards Like These?

Daily Express, 13th July 2007, Public Nuisance

    de-13-jul-07-public-nuisance-s.jpg

Daily Express, 7th November 2007, Fined For Unruly Behaviour In Public

Here’s one from 4 years ago: Daily Express, 8th May 2003, Festive Mood Gone Awry

    de-8-may-03-festive-mood-gone-awry-s.jpg

And the following video was taken by yours truly on 30th August 2005; I don’t think any mainstream TV station in the world will ever show it:

However, my favourite is one with a photo which showed a foreigner (Timorese) holding a motorcycle on a roadside, while the owner of the motorcycle (a very drunk local) could be seen still sleeping at the bottom of a shallow ravine. Apparently, the local guy fell in and could not even climb out, so he simply stayed on the ground he landed on, and slept there till daybreak! The newsreport must have been from the 1990s. I have the newscutting somewhere – still trying to locate it.

In conclusion, aramai ti, but in moderation, we don’t want to end up in the media for the wrong reasons.

P.S. I’ve seen some so drunk they lose bladder control: an adult diaper would’ve been welcome…

ALAMAK!!!!!!!!! THIS IS WHAT WE CALL “TOO MUCH ARAMAI TIEEE”… THE TECHNICAL TERM IS ” THE AFTERMATH OF A MIKE TYSON LEFT HOOK AND RIGHT UPPERCUT COMBINATION KNOCKOUT KO PUNCH” OR WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT-THE RESULT OF A “LAST RIDE SUPER POWER BOMB” FOLLOWED BY “THE TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER” BY THE 6 FT 10 INCHES 308 POUNDS THE UNDERTAKER!!!!

BUT ONE DRUNKEN PIC WHICH APPEARED ON THE NOW DEFUNCT ‘BERITA SABAH” IN 1998 CAPTIVATES ME MOST… A PIC IN TAMPARULI TOWN – A DRUNKEN GUY SLEEPING WITH HIS PANT ZIP WIDE OPENED, IN THE PARKING LOT, IN BETWEEN VEHICLES- SO HE BASICALLY ‘PARKED’ HIMSELF THERE… AND THE PIC WAS TAKEN BY NONE OTHER THAN KIULU PKR – GOLUBI GUNTAREK WITH THE FUNNIEST CAPTION IN THE WORLD “ALAMAK…… SEORANG LELAKI MABUK SEDANG TIDUR DI LOT PARKING KEDAI LAMA TAMPARULI, DENGAN KEADAAN ZIP SELUARNYA YANG TERBUKA LUAS, TIDAK SYAK LAGI DIA DALAM KEADAAN SEBEGINI SETELAH BERGUSTI DENGAN MINUMAN KERAS”….!!!!!!!!

MY GOD, “BERGUSTI DENGAN MINUMAN KERAS”…….!!!!!!

    OMG!
Isn’t it funny and embarrasing to see our people end up like that?

Well, at least that guy there is spotted with a Johnny Walker, not some tumpung made in a mineral water or something.

    Lol.
This is a good entry though. To keep our aramaiti as ‘good’ as possible

    Merry Xmas Mr. Ben

Yes, both emotions. Some people like to collect stamps, I like to collect newsclippings of too much aramaiti. Serves as a reminder and can be useful to put on slides during motivational talks to our local youths.

    Merry Xmas to you too!

A few years back, I had a Sabahan friend who got drunk and slept near a phone booth. Folks actually thought he was a dead body!! Lol! That was in Petaling Jaya some more..

During my SRP exam school holidays, I followed a good friend to Tambunan where I had my ‘training’. There were some days I woke up in someone else’s home!

    Happy Christmas Ben.

A Sabahan drunk, slept near phone booth in Klang Valley, mistaken for being dead: that would be an embarrassment if it ever did make the mainstream media.

My “training” in Tambunan happened in May 1993, 10 days solid. Yes, waking up in someone else’s home, having tapai for breakfast, being smashed as early as 2.30pm, a non-stop 8am-1am (17 hours) session, twin guitar accompaniment while answering call of nature included.

    Happy Christmas to you too!
