Malaysia’s most popular Hari Raya songs ever

    October 8th, 2007

There have been many Hari Raya songs written, but after so many years, I still hear the following songs year in and year out.

They are what I call total classics, everybody knows them, they still sound good, and pretenders will have a very hard time replacing them.

The list is like a who’s who of the local entertainment scene with their very own unforgettable Aidilfitri number.

    Saloma – Selamat Hari Raya

Others, arguably lower down the ladder:

    P Ramlee – Dendang Perantau
Sudirman – Dari Jauh Ku Pohon Maaf
Rafeah Buang – Bila Takbir Bergema
Aman Shah – Kepulangan Yang Dinanti
Dayangku Intan – Senandung Hari Raya Untukmu
Ramlah Ram – Hari Raya Hari Bahagia

Pure classics I tell ya! I’m humming away already!
BTW, is the player thing a plugin? I was kind of looking for this type of player for my blog..

Actually I just discovered imeem.com recently – it’s something like youtube – but apparently for everything, not just videos. You can create your own playlist from your own uploaded music or others (surprisingly popular with Malaysians/Indonesians – so easy to get non-English tracks). They provide the code for the created playlist you to paste on your blog post.

Being a music freak, I’m more into this than facebook ;-)
